This week, I’m honored to be leading the U.S. delegation to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Dubai to connect with inspiring entrepreneurs from around the world. From our earliest days, entrepreneurs have kept America vital and resilient. They are part of our national story and one of our great national strengths.

President Obama and Secretary Clinton have been clear that our global economic policy and our foreign policy go hand-in-hand. This week, U.S. government officials, investors, entrepreneurs, NGO leaders, and policy makers from more than 50 countries are gathering in Dubai, United Arab Emirates for the third annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit. President Obama announced the creation of this annual event during his 2009 speech at Cairo University in Egypt, and he hosted the inaugural Summit in Washington, D.C. in 2010.

Partnering To Promote Global Entrepreneurship

Last week, entrepreneurs from across the United States and around the globe were celebrated and lauded for their efforts to promote growth, innovation, and job creation at more than 40,000 events in 130 countries during the fifth annual Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW). The White House and the State Department marked the week with the “Celebration of Global Entrepreneurship” event on November 15, which brought together an all-star cast of speakers to highlight the importance of global entrepreneurship; the role of government, youth, and diaspora in promoting entrepreneurship; skills building; enabling policy; and ensuring access to capital.
