Secretary of State John Kerry accompanied President Barack Obama to Wales to participate in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit on September 4-5. While in Wales, Secretary Kerry met with several foreign counterparts to discuss regional issues, including the United States’ ongoing efforts to support the Iraqi government and the threats posed by ISIL. Following a meeting on ISIL, Secretary Kerry and Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel issued a joint statement, which you can read here.
