Today, President Donald J. Trump dedicated the 9/11 and Article 5 Memorial at #NATO headquarters in Brussels, #Belgium. The Memorial – a steel beam from the 107th floor of the World Trade Center’s North Tower in New York City – commemorates the support America’s NATO Allies and partners offered after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The very next day, on September 12, NATO – for the first time in its history – invoked Article 5, the collective defense clause of the Washington Treaty, signaling the attacks on the United States represented an attack on all NATO members. The Memorial stands as a solemn reminder of the bonds linking the United States and its NATO Allies.

Today, the State Department honored 10 Emerging Young Leaders, ages 16-25 from across the globe. These international youth have shown the tenacity and courage to create positive and social change in their communities.
